Thomas P. Zugibe was elected Rockland County District Attorney in 2007. Since taking office in January 2008, Tom has instituted numerous initiatives including Community Prosecution, the creation of the Special Victims Unit and a countywide expansion of the High School Intervention and Diversion Program. His leadership has resulted in the successful prosecution of several high profile, corruption and tax fraud-related cases. Tom is running for reelection in 2011, and he needs your help!

My first term as Rockland County District Attorney is shaping up to be a challenging, deeply rewarding and fulfilling experience. This office continues to evolve from a reactive law enforcement agency to a proactive, forward-thinking organization. We’ve transformed from a traditional “trial bureau,” focused solely on the prosecution of criminals, to an innovative and responsive prosecutor’s office, concentrating on crime prevention and the public safety needs of our community. My staff and I are committed to insuring that offenders are held accountable for their criminal conduct. Not only must we punish the guilty, but we must protect the innocent. This office is committed to assuring that the voices of victims are heard and that their experiences with the criminal justice system are as safe and stress-free as possible. Since first taking office in 2008, we have achieved great success in fulfilling our mission of enhanced and sustained public safety in Rockland County. By the numbers, our prosecutorial efforts have yielded impressive results, namely a felony conviction rate of over 98 percent, one of the highest in New York State.
I will be running for re-election in 2011 and will heavily rely on supporters like you to enable me to continue to provide the service that Rockland County residents expect and deserve.
